Once used, the booklet can't be used in this way again until the next dawn. The caster must say the bad joke out loud for it to take effect. Each creature in a 30-foot cone is affected as if being targetted by the Tasha's hideous laughter spell (Wisdom save DC 12). While holding this booklet, as an action you can read one of the many bad jokes written inside it. It is filled with countless jokes ranging from eye-rolling to cringe-worthy. This leather-bound booklet is small enough to fit into a pocket or pouch. Once used, the codpiece can't be used in this way again until the next dawn. While wearing this codpiece, you can use an action to grab your crotch and cast the suggestion spell (Wisdom save DC 13). If you want a more elaborate item, just browse the DMG magic item section, find a weapon that you think is cool, then translate it to an. There are no magical unarmed strike items in the game, so something as simple as this is a great boon. When worn, the codpiece enlarges or shrinks as necessary to fit the wearer. Another magic item idea would just be a simple +X spiked gauntlet, brass knuckles, hand wrap, or the like. This codpiece consists of a metallic cup with cushioning on the inside and colourful velvet lining. Once used, the knuckledusters can't be used again in this way until the next dawn. If the target dies, the spell ends prematurely. When making a melee attack with these knuckledusters, you can use a bonus action to cast the zone of truth spell (Charisma save DC 13) centred on the target. These polished adamantine knuckledusters have a flat band across the top which is imprinted with the words "the truth will set you free". Once used, the rod can't be used again in this way until the next dawn. If the target doesn’t have a free hand, they drop what they are holding in one hand, whichever hand they choose, so that they can salute. If the target fails the save, they immediately stand to attention and salute the caster before suffering the usual effects of the hold person spell. The command phrase is "you should respect your superiors". While holding this rod, you can use an action and speak the rod's command phrase to cast the hold person spell from it (Wisdom save DC 13). This ornate bronze rod is engraved with intricate depictions of the various social classes in the civilised world, from the royalty and aristocracy at the top to the peasantry and slaves at the bottom. The items are not overly powerful but I think they could make for some funny scenarios in the future and I thought I'd share them here in case anyone wants to use them as well. I have come up with four homebrew magic items for my d&d group that I plan on giving them as a reward for solving a series of puzzles in the upcoming session.
